SUBSTACK COMING SOON!

Here are links to my last two sermons from April 2025.  This includes Easter (April 20) and the following week (April 27).  I’ve had a lot of requests to be able to revisit my messages from these talks.  Its nice to know people are listening!

While I do have text for April 20, I don’t for April 27 because I delivered it without a manuscript and the notes I used were pretty minimal.  But all of this will be solved in the future because (hopefully) at the end of this month I will launch my Substack and Patreon where I will be able to share more of my content.

This month, I’m going through my archive of sermons, talks and lectures and making a proper database.  My next step will be to share with you a new Substack page where I will provide video versions of everything I put here on WordPress.  Once its all up and running, I will use the Patreon site to share more exclusive content, longer format pieces and research.  This has been a long time coming for me going back all the way to A.D.A.M (Adam Dyer Athletics and Massage) and Performance, Dance and Fitness…my first two ventures into online content.  I’m FINALLY ready, with enough of a library of material to make a proper go of this!  My blog here (13 years and still going!) will continue with written content only.

In any case, I hope you have a chance to listen to these two pieces or to read the Easter message.  This all ties in with my studies and growing scholarly work on equity and embodiment.

Enjoy!

The Best is Yet to Come (Easter, April 20, 2025) – FULL TEXT

Held in the Passion

Awaken now
Cradled in God’s love.
Here, there is total ecstasy.
Arm draped about waist
Head in the crook of shoulder
Feet and legs entwined
Warmth igniting skin
In and around
With a yearning beyond bodies.
Hair entangled turning,
Breath pungent with the odor of time
The smell of holiness, wholeness,
Safety and sacredness.
Drawing closer,
Aroused and drowsy,
Enflamed heart pounding with anticipation,
Pulsing flushed neck burning for this perfect kiss.
Aching to yield.
Never forsaken.

Easter is about many things for many people but for me it is about the complete embodiment of the relationship to faith.  In one story, there is affirmation, defiance, accusation, death and even resurrection…all of it pivoting on one supreme moment of thoroughly human doubt:

“My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mt 27:46 and Mk 15:34)

…answered by the miracle of rebirth.

It is the story of both the end and the beginning of a great love affair between human mortality and salvation.  For the non-Christian, it is the symbolic act of leaning in to the agony of struggle and rising in the destiny of being called to action against the forces that deny love.  Regardless of how you receive its message, Easter can be the embodiment of a threshold between the merely coy desire for faith and the consummation of divine grace.

Peace
